Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find my CE documentation?

CE documentation can be found on the certificates page of your ABAI portal. CE documentation will not be available for printing/download until the event concludes and the CE has been paid for.

What types of events offer CE?

CE is offered for events such as symposia, panels, workshops, invited presentations, and B. F. Skinner lectures. It is also available perpetually online through ABAI’s Learning Center.

How do you determine which events are available for CE?

When a submission is made, it is optional to request a CE review. The ABAI CE coordinator reviews all such requests to determine whether submissions meet the appropriate CE standards. Not all authors request that their submission be reviewed, and not all reviewed submissions are approved for CE.

How do I know if an event offers CE?

Events approved for CE are identified in ABAI’s convention app, the online program, and the print program, typically in the upper right corner. Events designated as "BACB" are approved for BACB CEUs; events designated as "PSY" are approved for APA CE credits; events designated as "QABA" are approved for QABA CEUs; events designated as "NASP" are approved for NASP CPD; Events designated as "IBAO" are approved for IBAO CEUs.

How do I know if an event contains BACB ethics or supervision content?

Any submission designated by the author as containing ethics or supervision content must include a rationale, which is reviewed by the ABAI CE coordinator. If approved, ethics/supervision events are identified in the app, online, and in the print program, typically in the upper right corner.

How many credits do I get for attending a session or workshop?

Fifty (50) minutes of instruction equals 1 CE credit, 80 minutes equals 1.5 CE credits, 110 minutes equals 2 CE credits, and so on.

Please note that ABAI does not submit CE information on your behalf; you are responsible for obtaining your certificates and submitting the necessary documentation to the appropriate organization.

I have a CE-related complaint. Who do I talk to?

Please contact convention@abainternational.org, or, if on site, visit the continuing education booth.

Available CE Types
