A Special Message on the Recent New Orleans Tragedy

The Association for Behavior Analysis (ABAI) is heartbroken over the recent New Year’s tragedy in New Orleans. It is an incomprehensible act of violence. Our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured in this horrific incident.

While details and motives are still being investigated, ABAI wanted to reach out to its members and other constituents to express our sorrow and to acknowledge questions attendees may have as they prepare for our 19th Annual Autism Conference being held in New Orleans from January 17–19.

For all its events, ABAI takes every precaution to ensure attendees’ safety. Information for each event is posted online and can be found here for those wanting more information about this upcoming event. We understand the risks inherent in our everyday lives, and we want to ensure that we provide the safest possible experience for every individual joining us in New Orleans.

For anyone who wishes to directly support those impacted by the tragedy, please consider donating to the fund established by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. For any questions or more information about ABAI’s safety precautions or the 19th Annual Autism Conference in New Orleans, please contact our office at mail@abainternational.org or (269) 492-9310.
