Association for Behavior Analysis International

The Association for Behavior Analysis International® (ABAI) is a nonprofit membership organization with the mission to contribute to the well-being of society by developing, enhancing, and supporting the growth and vitality of the science of behavior analysis through research, education, and practice.

Research is the foundation of our field. ABAI supports best practices in research and collaborates with other science-advocacy organizations. Our Science Board is wholly dedicated to promotion and dissemination of research in behavior analysis.
ABAI's commitment to supporting behavior analysis science and research is central to its strategic planning and mission. Science Board activities include organizing B. F. Skinner lecturers in the science track for the ABAI annual convention, advocating for and facilitating research efforts in the field, and taking on efforts to increase the presence of basic and translational research at the convention.

To this end, ABAI is a member of the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences (FABBS), and provides a liaison to its board. FABBS is an organization devoted to science advocacy and education, composed of a coalition of scientific societies that share a common interest in advancing behavioral sciences. ABAI is also a member organization of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC), which provides accreditation and assessment programs for animal research facilities that directly affect university programs in behavior analysis.
