Rick L. Shull

Dr. Rick L. Shull received his BA from Brown University in 1964 and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 1969. He obtained a position at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1969, and has remained there, attaining the status of emeritus professor in 2006. He has a wide range of interests, making major systematic contributions to the literature on choice, resistance to change, and the understanding of the structure of free-operant behavior. Dr. Shull served on the editorial board of the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior for six periods of three years, as associate editor from 1985 to 1988, and as editor from 1995 to 1999. He has also twice served on the boards of The Behavior Analyst and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as a number of other journals. He is a Fellow of Divisions 3 and 25 of the American Psychological Association and a Fellow of the American Psychological Society.
