Dr. Michael Cataldo received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. His career has focused on creating and directing a clinical research program that combines clinical excellence with cutting-edge research. During Dr. Cataldo's tenure at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, high-quality clinical treatment for challenges such as self-injurious behavior, seizures, and feeding disorders has been provided to many thousands of individuals. In this same context, programs of applied and basic research have advanced understanding and treatment of a range of behavioral and medical problems, and integrated neuroscience and behavior analysis research. This research has garnered millions of dollars and generated hundreds of publications.
While supporting this expansive and successful clinical and research enterprise, Dr. Cataldo has participated in training hundreds of pre- and postdoctoral fellows in applied behavior analysis, including many leaders in the field today. Throughout these activities, Dr. Cataldo has served on numerous editorial boards and national policy committees that have shaped the direction of the field. Dr. Cataldo has served as president of the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the American Psychological Association's Division 25 (Behavior Analysis) and Division 33 (Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities). Dr. Cataldo's decades-long commitment to furthering the field of behavior analysis, combined with a strategic vision of how to achieve his clinical and research goals, have been the hallmarks of his career.
