Mark L. Sundberg
Sundberg & Associates
Mark L. Sundberg, widely regarded as one of the principal authorities on verbal behavior, received his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in 1980, and currently leads Sundberg & Associates, offering consultation and training for children and adults with disabilities. Dr. Sundberg has made substantive and enduring contributions to the understanding and application of verbal behavior through his research, clinical resources, and professional service. He was founder—and editor in chief for 16 years—of The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, the primary outlet for empirical and theoretical analyses of verbal behavior. His Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) is a widely used tool to characterize verbal functioning in children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, providing a criterion-referenced, evidence-based assessment derived from a functional analysis of verbal behavior.
