Dr. Keith D. Allen received his Ph.D. from West Virginia University and currently serves as professor of psychology and pediatrics at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His impactful research spans the disciplines of behavior analysis, pediatrics, and dentistry, and he is nationally known for his expertise in behavioral approaches to managing child behavior during dental treatment and pain management. Dr. Allen has been particularly influential in promoting behavior analysis in medicine through his many publications in the top journals for pediatrics, and in the broader field of psychology through his extensive publications in top-tier clinical psychology journals, in addition to his substantial contributions in the best outlets in behavior analysis. The quality of his work is recognized by ongoing funding for his research and training as PI or co-PI on federal (e.g., NIDR, NIH, DOE), private, and local grants. Dr. Allen’s contributions to teaching and service have also been exemplary. He has served on numerous editorial boards and NIH review panels, he supervises interns directly and serves as the coordinator of internship training at Munroe-Meyer, and he is co-director of internship training in the state of Nebraska. Dr. Allen has been the recipient of numerous teaching and service awards.
