Dr. Shawn Gilroy is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the APA, NASP, and BACB Accredited School Psychology Program at Louisiana State University. Dr. Gilroy’s work incorporates technology in both basic (e.g., operant models of choice, consumption) and applied settings (e.g., mobile application development). This work includes a combination of single case research methods as well as randomized control designs and statistical analyses across various areas of behavioral science.
Across basic and applied research, Dr. Gilroy has adopted an Open Science approach to single case and group design research. All research elements (e.g., statistical code, data, tools) are released under Free and Open Source licenses to support the replication and extension of academic research. All projects, to date, are contained in an active GitHub repository where these data and tools are publicly hosted.
Current projects under development include developing free and open source tools for use in communication interventions (e.g., mobile “apps”, statistical programs for Behavior Analysts). Projects are actively and transparently developed such that other researchers and practitioners can readily access and acquire elements of on-going research.
