Webinar Series: Using Video Modeling for Intervention, Research, and Training in Applied Behavior Analysis, November 2023
Video Modeling (VM) is a widely used method for teaching academic, social, and readiness skills to various individuals. It is believed to lead to faster acquisition of skills compared to in vivo modeling (Charlop-Christy et al., 2000). By accurately portraying the context in which a skill needs to be performed, videos can facilitate faster generalization. Additionally, VM allows clinicians and researchers to present multiple examples without compromising the integrity of the video. This makes it a cost-efficient alternative, especially since it does not require extensive training and can be implemented without disrupting daily classroom activities (National Autism Center, 2015).
In this webinar, we will provide attendees with the research background on video modeling, highlighting its most successful applications. Furthermore, participants will be introduced to free accessible tools that they can use in your practice. To enhance their learning experience, video examples and interactive questions will be used throughout the webinar.
